1st November 2009 Windsurfing: Ynyslas Wind Direction: W Wind Stength: 30-40 knots Surf / Sea State: Messy surf Air Temperature: 15ºC Sea Temperature: 14ºC Weather: Suuny spells and showers Max Speed: Distance Covered: A perect session here at Ynylsas. The wind was gustgin to 52.6 knots in the morning with heavy rain, but the rain cleared, the sun came out and the wind swung Westerly and eased at around 35 knots. SimonC and I went out from Ynyslas, I was on a 4.5m and Simon on a 4.2, the 4.5m was just right to start with and I had some good long blasts right down to the slipway in Borth and then right up to the bar outside the estuary. The wind then went ballistic for a while and I couldn't hold on, but it settled back down a little although I was still way overpowered most of the time and just hanging on and hoping for the best. It did of course lead to some mad barely on the edge of control runs at crazy speeds, and as I got more an more tired one or two mad crashes too. A great day in good conditions and it looks set to stay this way for the rest of the week. |
